Digital Camera

Robin Benson, evening classes - Tracy Blackstone, day classes

Bring your digital camera, ALL of its attachments (especially the cord to connect to the computer!!) and your manual.... and don't forget to take lots of photos so there is plenty to work with in class. Learn to load the photos to your computer, create folders to organize on the computer and save photos to a CD. This class is to help you feel more comfortable with your camera, but cannot promise to get to all the settings as there are so many varieties of cameras!!  

Computer4Scrapbook

Jodie Arick, evening classes -Tracy Blackstone, day classes

Bring at least 5 to 10 photos, preferred to be already in "digital" form, but can be a hard-copy photo (we will scan these photos-so plan to come early to class about 15 minutes!) and plan to edit the photos and insert into shapes and pages for the beginnings of a scrapbook page.  You will save to a CD: lots of clipart, background images, your edited photos and ideas to get you started towards computer scrapbooking as well as a FREE Scrapbook program to use at  home.

Learn how to make 'good' photos even better. Digital photos can be made to have a whole new look, or cropped to get the perfect photo. You'll amaze yourself on how many photos you can improve on or save from getting deleted with just a few mouse clicks. Bring your photos already in digital form: camera card or stick, mini-drive or CD... and come to a class that uses FREE editing software so you can save to a CD all your new photos and the software to take home and continue using.

Intro to PCs & File Management

This computer class provides a basis for good computer usage, info that everyday folks can use! This class will focus on learning your way around, organizing your files and learning the basics that builds toward all other lessons taught in the Learning Center.

Word 1 - The Basics

Formatting and Document set-up on the first level. Mircosoft WORD is one of the favorites of word processing programs... learn some shortcuts and menu usage that will help make your "work" more fun!

Word 2 - Cool Tools

WORD-- Microsoft's widely used word processing program, used for preparing documents (letters, labels, envelopes, reports, etc.). Learn how to use the Cool Tools for better looking, more professional results.

Word 4  -Graphics and Computer "Friendly"

Learn to make your computer USER FRIENDLY.. for YOU!! Set up some quick ways to access your most used programs and/or files and change some settings so that your computer is more personal to your way of computing. This class has now been combined with a new segment of learning to work with graphics in the Microsoft program - Word.

Internet

Surf the Internet and learn about making Favorites, Organizing Favorites, the home page choice, cleaning up cookies and temporary files, etc. 

Email

Using the program Eudora, the class focuses on what all email programs should offer-- creating a new message, forwarding, replying, making signatures and address book entries. A version of Eudora can be downloaded for free.

Excel 1

If you are working with numbers/figures, you'll want to try this great Microsoft spreadsheet program. This class focuses on the fill tool and navigation.

A desktop publishing program, Microsoft Publisher offers many templates to make easy labels, fliers, greeting cards and so much more!

PowerPoint

A presentation program, Microsoft PowerPoint offers a quick and rather easy way to make a very professional presentation. Perhaps you will want to use this neat program for the family reunion to display your family photos. Or you may wish to have a display running of what options your business offers at a local business show.

Word 3 - Merge
